If 50% of the game (Which I don’t even believe) real world traded at one point, then why would those 50% of people FIFA Coins stop if they weren’t banned like Jagex should have done? They are given a get out of jail free card by Jagex, which isn’t very admiring, and runescape 2007 gold probably leads to the fact that statistic isn’t even accurate.
If you are one of these people who pays for gold off a website, you’d know the prices are astronomically lower. A bond is 7m, that is $5 in runescape’s gp to dollar converter. If you bought from gold farming sites, or even bothered to google this information you’d know the street price of GP on illegal websites is near $.20/mil. The price of a bond is $.71/mil. So, if 50% of people actively knew this, then WHY would they stop buying from the websites they already know are reputable and cheaper? That’s the exact question no body knows. I’m sure Jagex even knows this.
To buy 7m from Jagex is $5. To buy 7m from a website is 1.4 dollars.
To buy a year of membership is 26 bonds.
To buy a year of membership with bonds from Jagex is 130 dollars, To buy a year of membership is 60 dollars.
To buy a year of membership with bonds from illegal websites is 36.4 dollars.
So, why exactly would anyone stop saving money by making transactions from the already known, reputable companies that sell GP?
The idea was to give players a safe choice. Unfortunatly, many people use money to base decisions. So they realize that RWTing the gp is cheaper than buying a bond and buy it from a third party.
That is why bonds was doomed from the beggining. The only reason bonds have a demand is for gifting to friends for members. That is what is keeping its price at the point it is…otherwise it would crash in value.
Having the price set by the players via ge is horrible as once it crashes, makes bonds a horrible choice to use to by gold. It was better off to give a set gp price of like 15 m or rs gold something.
Then players would buy the bonds, www.coinsut.co.uk tanking the price making RWT cheaper to buy and vice versa…it would be a cycle.
